Several months have passed since the launch of the PS5 Pro. In fact, for most of those months, the majority of major new releases at launch did not include PS5 Pro enhancement support. However, whether due to Sony recently issuing relevant notices to developers or PS5 Pro users simply experiencing a streak of good luck, support for this high-end PlayStation console has clearly increased lately. In this regard, all major PS5 games released in September 2026, except for one, fully support PS5 Pro enhancements. Of course, this excludes high-spec indie games that were unlikely to be optimized for the PS5 Pro in the first place.

Meanwhile, another highly anticipated title this month, Halloween: The Game, does not offer PS5 Pro support—at least not full enhancements yet. As for the reason, we don't know, nor is it clear whether the developer plans to address this later.
In addition, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd—the highest-rated game of 2026—and NASCAR 26 also lack PS5 Pro enhancement support, though whether they qualify as major titles of the month is debatable. As mentioned earlier, some notable indie games also don't support PS5 Pro, such as Mewgenics and Well Dweller, the latter currently being the third highest-rated game of 2026.
PS5 Pro Support Is Improving
Since the launch of the PS5 Pro, EA has been a very active supporter of the console. However, seeing more and more other developers and publishers join in is still an encouraging sign. This change is even more noteworthy given that Sony itself has sometimes failed to fully leverage the PS5 Pro's capabilities. Unfortunately, while game support for the PS5 Pro is continuously improving, there still aren't enough titles truly utilizing the console's killer feature, PSSR 2.0.
So, this isn't meant to single out Halloween: The Game for lacking PS5 Pro enhancements. In fact, one could argue that the extra performance offered by the PS5 Pro isn't that crucial for Halloween: The Game. What's truly noteworthy is that September has been a month with quite strong support for PS5 Pro users, which hasn't been common in the past—in fact, it's rarely been the case.
With the PS6 potentially already on players' radars, it's still hard to predict where the PS5 Pro is headed. The console may soon find itself in a somewhat awkward position, but before the PS6 arrives, GTA 6 should help the PS5 Pro sell a considerable number of units during this period.
