Ted Litchfield played Bloodborne on PC using the shadPS4 emulator and BB Launcher. He used an RX 9070 XT graphics card to run the game at 1440p resolution and 60 FPS. The overall experience was good, but visual glitches repeatedly occurred in two areas.
Ted Litchfield is a big fan of Bloodborne. He previously played the game mainly on PS4, but this time he wanted to switch to PC. He believes the current emulator experience has its merits, although glitches still occur during gameplay.
The issues appeared at the entrance to the Cathedral Ward and at a shortcut in the Forbidden Woods leading to an elevator. He stated that roughly seven out of ten times when passing through these areas, significant colorful visual artifacts would appear, requiring him to quit and reload the game to resolve.
He tried adjusting the resolution, VRAM usage, lighting settings, and FSR, and even switched shadPS4 versions, but has yet to find a solution. He is unsure whether the issue stems from the game running on the emulator or from the BB Remaster mod he is using.
In addition to the visual performance, he also experienced the Chalice Dungeon feature via BB Launcher. This tool allows procedurally generated dungeons to be added to save files and provides some commonly used dungeons for players to choose from. He then tackled higher-difficulty dungeons and gained extra character levels.
Litchfield believes that playing Bloodborne on PC still presents barriers, with the most difficult step being obtaining the game files from a legally purchased copy.
