Alinea Analytics Predicts Steam Revenue Could Exceed $20 Billion This Year, Breaking Its Own Record

Alinea Analytics predicts that Steam's revenue in 2026 could surpass $20 billion, setting a new record for the platform. The firm estimates that Steam has already generated $15 billion in revenue in the first eight months of this year.

Based on this estimate, Steam's total revenue for 2025 is $19.9 billion. Alinea Analytics predicts a year-over-year revenue growth of approximately 15% this year. Valve has not yet released official revenue figures or full-year forecasts for this year.

Top-grossing titles include Forza Horizon 6, Red Desert, Resident Evil: Requiem, Slay the Spire 2, and Subnautica 2. The report also lists Mecha Chameleon, along with mid-sized titles such as Mortal Shell 2, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.

Alinea Analytics estimates that the top 100 new games of the year generated a combined $2.4 billion in revenue; the remainder comes from older games and other new releases. The firm notes that revenue growth is sometimes driven primarily by mid-sized games.
