Reports indicate that Final Fantasy VII: Revelation will feature a rhythm-based minigame centered around a Moggle idol project. Players must press the corresponding buttons at the right moments during songs to support the performing Moggles.
This side quest is set against the backdrop of a financial crisis at Moggle House. To improve their economic situation and raise funds, the Moggles decide to enter the entertainment industry by launching their own pop idol project. The associated gameplay consists of side story elements, character performances, and rhythm-based button inputs.
Unlike the design in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, where players chased and captured Moggles, the new title reportedly abandons the original gameplay. Instead, it adjusts the direction of the Moggle side quest through an idol storyline and music-based minigames.
It is also reported that Final Fantasy VII: Revelation is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on April 8, 2027. However, existing materials do not include the official announcement from Square Enix, so the game's official subtitle, specific gameplay mechanics, release date, and platform lineup remain subject to official confirmation.
