SE has announced that the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Sky of Silver, will launch on February 23, 2027. The previously announced release window was January 2027, meaning the new date represents a delay of approximately one month.
Pre-orders and early purchases for Final Fantasy XIV: Sky of Silver begin on November 4, 2026, with early access expected to open around 18:00 on February 19, 2027. The Steam version has a slightly different schedule, with release expected on February 24 and pre-orders starting from November 5, 2026.
The expansion will be set in the "Fourth World," which is being eroded by the power of ice, and the official full trailer has been released. The new job, "Westwind," unveiled at the same time, is positioned as a ranged physical DPS. Its concept is derived from the survival techniques of hunters in the mountainous regions of northwestern Ilsabard, adapted to harsh natural environments.
In combat, the Westwind combines crossbow shots with raptor-type familiars. Final Fantasy XIV is currently available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Windows, and Mac platforms.
