Report: Sony's Bend Studio Developing Third-Person Co-op Game for 2027 Release

Reports indicate that Bend Studio is developing a third-person co-op game, planned to be unveiled in 2027 with a release target for the same year. The title is currently neither a live-service game nor a sequel to Days Gone, though these details have not been officially confirmed.

Anonymous sources revealed that the game in development retains multiplayer co-op features but does not continue the live-service model. Its positioning differs from the canceled live-service project codenamed "Mirror Pond." As for whether the new title will use a brand-new IP, there is currently no clear answer.

Bend Studio has not released a new title in seven years since launching Days Gone on April 26, 2019. The studio previously proposed a sequel to Days Gone, but it was not greenlit by PlayStation executives at the time.

The currently leaked reveal window, release timeframe, and gameplay design are still subject to change during development. Sources stated that Sony may adjust the project's direction in the future, including adding live-service elements or removing co-op content, so the details disclosed at this stage should not be considered final.
