If there's one game with the potential to go viral and approach the hype of GTA 6, it's CDPR's The Witcher 4. CDPR announced the game at The Game Awards 2024 and later revealed its target release year is 2028.
It seems the studio aims to bring in all the top talent from the industry for this project, as CDPR has now hired a third developer from Warhorse, the studio behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, accelerating the game's production.
Zbyněk Zelenka, former Chief Technical Designer at Warhorse Studios, has recently left to join CD Projekt Red as a Senior Gameplay Designer. This marks the third such personnel change.
The studio had previously hired Karel Kolman and Zdeněk Glatz, both of whom worked on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at Warhorse Studios. It appears the company holds the two directors of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in high regard and hopes they can helm its flagship title.
Although the game is still years away from release, player enthusiasm is already high. The game features Ciri as the protagonist, but Geralt will also be involved. For eager fans, CDPR also plans to release a new DLC for The Witcher 3 next year.
