Mark Tilbury, a UK millionaire and social media creator, recently released a video discussing whether buying "GTA6" is "cost-saving" from an entertainment cost perspective. Based on a series of assumptions, he calculated that players staying home to play could theoretically avoid $5,000 in外出 expenses, and the video subsequently went viral.
Tilbury picked up a game display box at a store in the UK and did some calculations with a calculator: assuming the game costs $99.99 and takes 80 hours to complete, the hourly entertainment cost would be about $1.24; if side quests and the large open-world map are taken into account, the cost could even drop to around $0.50 per hour.
He further assumed that players would play for 4 hours each night over 50 nights. If they would have gone out on those nights instead, spending about $100 per night on food, drinks, and activities, the total expense would reach $5,000. Therefore, staying home to play games could theoretically save this amount.
Note that this calculation is based on specific pricing, playtime, and spending habits. It is merely Tilbury's personal opinion and not a universally applicable financial conclusion.
