Raw Power Games, the developer of Chronicles: Medieval, has announced that funding necessary to sustain both the studio and the project has been cut off. Without this financial support, the team is unable to continue development, putting the studio at risk of closure.
Chronicles: Medieval is an open-world sandbox game featuring a dynamic medieval world and large-scale battles, with over four years of development behind it. The game was originally scheduled to enter Early Access on Steam in early 2027.
The funding issue arose rather suddenly. The team continued to release development logs throughout October, detailing medieval heraldry and its implementation in the game, with no prior indications of a crisis. Raw Power Games stated that the project was very close to launch, describing the Early Access version as "within reach" and noting that the world they have built over many years is beginning to take full shape.
The studio has stated it will not give up the fight for survival, urging followers to keep the game on their wishlists and continue discussing the project. Currently, the team has not disclosed how long existing funds will last, nor confirmed any new investors or financing arrangements. While studio closure and game cancellation remain real risks, they are not yet inevitable; whether the planned Early Access launch can proceed depends on whether the team can secure alternative funding in time.
