Kinggath's free creation for Fallout 4, "Fervent Dreams," has been released. Some players consider it one of the game's best additions, even viewing it as the epilogue the base game should have had years later; the quest storyline also changes based on the player's choices in the main story.
The project was funded by Bethesda and released under its name, with the original voice actors for Nate and Nora returning, while Mark Sheppard voices a talking Deathclaw. However, the canonical status of "Fervent Dreams" remains unclear. Players cite Emil Pagliarulo's use of the term "parallel canon" when discussing similar content, suggesting that future entries in the series may not adopt its settings.
The quest can be started upon arriving at Diamond City and meeting Mr. Handy. Dialogue changes based on main story progress, chosen faction, romance options, and whether Shaun has been found. Once inside the quest area, players must complete the storyline to leave and cannot return afterward; equipment is confiscated at the entrance, companions cannot accompany you, and some puzzles and collectibles require "Master" lockpicking skill.
Quest rewards include two new plasma guns, armor and linings, outfits, nine named legendary items, and workshop objects. Playing this content does not disable achievements. Currently, "Fervent Dreams" is not available on Nintendo Switch. Additionally, some players report losing a large number of caps after retrieving their equipment, so be aware of this potential issue before starting the quest.
