Swiss indie developer Sunnyside Games announced that "Nocturnal 2" will be released on November 10, 2026, for PC via Steam. The game is priced at $9.99 (€9.99/£7.99), with a 10% launch discount.
In "Nocturnal 2," fire is central to combat and exploration. Hitting fire sources ignites Aldershil's sword, dispelling darkness and enhancing his abilities. Enemies can extinguish the flame, so players must protect it to clearly see incoming attacks. Sunnyside describes the combat as fast-paced and combo-oriented, with enemies being knocked into the air and turning to ash. Players can combine flame gems to unlock new spells, and the sword can also reignite ancient mechanisms and torches, awakening the entire city.
Ytash (Itash City) is a hand-drawn interconnected world inspired by Persian architecture, stretching from dark abysses to towering heights. Hidden passages and new abilities will unlock new routes, allowing players to revisit previous areas as they grow.
The Steam page promises hidden endings in the game, and players can collect strange arcane arts and poetry along the way. Sunnyside Studio describes it as a minimalist experience, focusing on atmosphere and the joy of exploration. The game demo launched on Steam on January 27.
