Alinea Analytics estimates that Gran Turismo 7 has sold over 12.7 million copies since its release in March 2022, generating more than $840 million in sales revenue for Sony. These figures are not officially disclosed by Sony.
Analyst Rhys Elliott stated that, based on sales revenue, Gran Turismo 7 ranks second among current-generation PlayStation exclusives, trailing only Marvel's Spider-Man 2 with approximately $1.3 billion in revenue, and surpassing Helldivers 2, Ghost of Yotei, Astro Bot, and Marvel's Wolverine.
The report estimates that Gran Turismo 7 currently has around 3 million monthly active players, with daily active users ranging from 400,000 to 700,000. The game sold 2.9 million copies and generated $189.7 million in revenue in 2023; 2.7 million copies and $161.3 million in 2024; 1.7 million copies and $119.1 million in 2025; and 1.3 million copies and $74.7 million from 2026 up to the time of the report's release.
Alinea believes that the holiday season significantly contributes to the game's long-tail sales. During Christmas week 2023, Gran Turismo 7 generated $14.7 million in revenue, approximately 4.6 times that of an average week that year.
For comparison, Alinea estimates that Forza Motorsport has sold approximately 1.3 million copies on Xbox and Steam since its 2023 release, generating around $89.9 million in revenue. However, the firm also notes that the two games had different launch conditions: Forza Motorsport was available on Game Pass from day one and had no previous-generation console version, while about a quarter of Gran Turismo 7's revenue came from the PS4 version.
