Card-based Roguelike "Birds in the Arena" Releases First Trailer, Steam Public Playtest Launches Simultaneously on November 10
The new card-building Roguelike title "Birds in the Arena," developed individually by Will Cheng and published by OKJOY, has released its teaser trailer. The public Playtest will officially begin on Steam on November 10, 2026, at 11:00 (local time), lasting approximately two weeks, with the full game scheduled for release in 2027.
This game features birds and insects as its main characters, with the core concept of "cards that come to life"—your hand isn't made of static cards, but living bugs. These insects wander around your hand area, grow, and even prey on each other; weak larvae may evolve into powerful units or be devoured by other insects and disappear, meaning your hand is in a constant state of dynamic change. Players choose different bird fighters, bring their bug cages into the arena, and leverage chain reactions between insects, unique bird abilities, and various accessories to transform chaotic swarms into powerful combos for explosive damage. Each bird has exclusive skills and build directions; each arena features unique rules and trials; and hatching bird eggs at camp unlocks permanent progression elements. The demo version opens the Abyss Arena, features the playable character "Enaga," and offers 27 types of insects and 30 accessories for players to experience the fun of deck building.
