Player Claims Bullet Pierced Walls and Hit ASUS TUF VG258QM, Yet Screen Still Displayed Image

Player antisocialnae reported that while playing Call of Duty late at night, a bullet pierced through the exterior and interior walls of their home, eventually hitting an ASUS TUF VG258QM monitor on the desk. Despite the impact, the monitor did not completely fail; aside from the damaged area, the rest of the screen continued to display normally.

Photos shared by the player show a bullet hole in the home's exterior wall, along with impact marks on the interior wall and the monitor. Drywall dust was scattered across the back of the desk. The player stated that the bullet narrowly missed them and remarked that the $280 monitor was the best money they had ever spent.

Currently, the player is temporarily using two other ASUS monitors and mentioned they were already planning to replace the screen. An ASUS representative responded in the relevant discussion thread, stating they would look into the matter further, but there is no confirmation yet regarding a free replacement for the monitor.
