The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remaster Maintains Stable 60 FPS in Most Scenes with Clear Visuals

The initial technical analysis results for "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake" have been released. The game maintains a stable 60 fps most of the time, and the overall image quality is relatively clear, but FSR-based image reconstruction causes flickering and visual artifacts in some elements.

Tests show that the game uses a dynamic resolution ranging from 1080p to 1440p in TV mode, and between 720p and 1080p in handheld mode. During portable play, some graphical settings are lowered, including reduced draw distances and lower-quality textures, but the final image is still considered clear and appealing.

In terms of image reconstruction, Nintendo reportedly opted for FSR over DLSS. This approach can cause flickering or visual shimmering in certain on-screen elements, representing one of the few more noticeable issues with room for improvement identified in this analysis.

Performance is one of the major improvements in the new version. Aside from minor stuttering during some loading sequences, the game generally maintains a stable 60 fps; by comparison, the original Nintendo 64 version ran at 20 fps, and the Nintendo 3DS version at 30 fps. "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake" is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026.
