In a recent survey of 9,000 teenagers conducted by Piper Sandler, 90% of respondents said they intend to play GTA 6 Online, and 40% plan to make additional in-game purchases. However, Rockstar has not yet announced an online mode for GTA 6, and retailer product pages currently describe it explicitly as a "single-player experience."
It remains unclear how Rockstar will handle the existing GTA Online after the release of GTA 6. But regardless of the outcome, some players are likely to be dissatisfied.
Among respondents who own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, 70% plan to purchase GTA 6, with 55% intending to buy it immediately and another 15% planning to wait a few months. Data from Circana also shows that nearly one-third of console and PC players in the US plan to buy the game, marking the highest purchase intent recorded by the firm.
GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, with pre-loading starting on November 10.
