Lords of the Fallen 2 New Gameplay Demo: Weapon Switching During Combos

CI Games recently unveiled new gameplay footage for Lords of the Fallen 2, showcasing several adjustments to melee, magic, and ranged combat in the sequel. Players can switch weapons mid-combo, adapting their attack style based on enemy movements and openings in battle.

Gameplay Demo:

This mechanic allows players to initially use defensive weapons or counterattacks against faster enemies, then switch to quicker weapons to go on the offensive once an opening appears. The combat demonstration also covers dual-wielding and unarmed skills.

The sequel will expand weapon categories and introduce quick-cast abilities and counterattack skills. Magic and ranged weapons will also receive enhancements, each featuring dedicated stances, with spells now taking effect instantly. Basic ammunition will not deplete, but special arrows and bullets will remain as differentiated options in ranged combat.

The development team also mentioned improvements to the weapon upgrade system, though specific changes were not shown in this demo. The actual feel of mechanics like switching weapons during combos will need further hands-on play to confirm.

Lords of the Fallen 2 has secured the funding needed to complete development and is scheduled to launch in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.
