Adam Driver has stated that he has completely moved on from Star Wars and the role of Kylo Ren. However, he remains open to returning if someone is willing to revive the canceled solo film.
Last year, Adam Driver and director Steven Soderbergh delivered major news to Star Wars fans: the two were developing a new film centered on Kylo Ren.
The film was originally planned as a sequel to Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, with a story that would bring back to life the villain who gradually found redemption in the sequel trilogy. However, Disney ultimately rejected the project, citing that senior executives could not accept the premise of Kylo Ren's resurrection.
The film was tentatively titled The Hunt for Ben Solo. It is reported that key Star Wars executives such as Kathleen Kennedy supported the project, but higher-level decision-makers at Disney were not on board.
Driver and Soderbergh spent two full years preparing for the film, and both clearly had great enthusiasm for the project. Yet, despite various fan petitions and shows of support, Driver now seems to have NO BREATH.
During an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Driver was asked whether he would return to Star Wars in the future. He made it clear that his connection with the franchise has ended, stating bluntly, "It's all over. I won't be appearing in Star Wars again."
Nevertheless, his stance leaves a slight opening: he would still consider returning if someone were willing to revive the previously canceled The Hunt for Ben Solo.
