The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Supports 35 amiibo

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launched this week. Two new companion amiibo can be scanned via the Switch 2's NFC functionality to unlock classic-style masks in-game, featuring the polygonal character faces from the original 1998 version. Including previously released products, the game supports a total of 35 The Legend of Zelda series amiibo.

The two new figures are based on the new versions of Young Link and Young Zelda. Link is depicted holding Navi while sitting on a tree stump, and Zelda is shown sitting on a rock, cradling the Ocarina of Time. The corresponding masks allow players to switch the characters in the remake to their legacy visual designs. Reports indicate that the masks can also be swapped between characters, allowing Link to wear Zelda's classic face and Zelda to use Link's mask.

Nintendo previously confirmed in an October gameplay preview video that the existing 33 series amiibo are also compatible with the remake. These include Link and Zelda from Super Smash Bros. and other series, as well as characters like Daruk and Ganondorf. Nintendo has not yet released a complete list of drops for each product, but has confirmed they provide adventure items such as Bombs, Hearts, or Deku Sticks.

Players can scan amiibo using the NFC reader built into the right Joy-Con 2 stick of the Switch 2. When using the Pro Controller, the感应 area is located below the Switch 2 logo at the top center of the controller.
