A new trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3 has been released, featuring the first on-screen appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog alongside Bubbles. In the footage, the two characters run side by side through a forest, laughing as they go, though the reason for Sonic's presence in this world remains unrevealed.
The trailer does not clarify whether Sonic is merely making a brief cameo or will play a significant role in the main plot. Bubbles continues to be voiced by Josh Gad, while Sonic's specific character role awaits confirmation from future materials.
The Angry Birds Movie 3 is distributed by Paramount, whereas the first two films in the series were handled by Sony. This cross-franchise interaction may be linked to Paramount also holding the film rights to Sonic, but the studios have not yet officially explained the rationale behind the crossover.
The Angry Birds Movie 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on December 23, while Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is planned for release on March 19 of the following year.
