No Fixed Server Selection: World of Warcraft Infinite Stabilizes After Half an Hour

During the initial launch of World of Warcraft: Infinite, there were brief login queues, and some players encountered issues where rule sets appeared grayed out and became inaccessible after getting through the queue. After about 30 minutes of repeated queuing, the system began operating as expected, with relatively few delays and other glitches thereafter.

不再挑选固定服务器 《魔兽世界:无限》开放半小时后趋稳

This launch adopted a "serverless" architecture, differing from the traditional server selection method used in World of Warcraft and its Classic versions. Instead of choosing a fixed server to create characters on, players select rule sets such as Player vs. Environment, Roleplaying, or Player vs. Player. Players who choose the same rule set enter a unified environment composed of numerous interconnected servers.

Aside from the first half-hour, the launch process was relatively smooth. Although starter zones were crowded, quests could still be progressed. Some players on Reddit even called it one of Blizzard's smoothest launches, though these claims are based on player feedback and observations rather than comprehensive technical statistics, so the architecture's performance during subsequent peak periods remains to be seen.

Before the launch, Blizzard increased damage for all classes and teased a疑似 new legendary weapon, as well as potential future class and race combinations. The most definitive change remains the shift from selecting fixed servers to choosing rule sets, along with the architecture's performance after initial issues were mitigated.
