The "Pokémon TCG: 30th Anniversary Celebration Ditto Premium Collection Box" will be released on November 6 with a suggested retail price of $39.99. The centerpiece of the set is a brand-new promotional card, marking the first time Ditto appears in the form of Cherrim.
Ditto has previously transformed into Pokémon such as Gengar, Eevee and its evolutions, Snorlax, Spiritomb, and Mimikyu in animations, cards, and plush merchandise, but an official design featuring Ditto's iconic face on Cherrim had never been used before. The new card also features a move called "Surprise Transformation," referencing Ditto's ability to transform into other Pokémon.
The collection box includes a card display stand, eight 30th Anniversary Celebration booster packs, and this promotional Ditto as Cherrim card. The 30th Anniversary Celebration series features both new cards and reprints of older ones, the latter bearing the 30th Anniversary Pikachu logo; media outlets have noted that the average pack openings for this series are quite generous.
As this collection box includes exclusive cards, resale prices have already started to rise in the market. The highlights focus on the debut of the Ditto as Cherrim design, the box contents, and its limited-edition collectible nature, rather than any new in-game Ditto forms.
