The first trailer for Lord of War 2, the direct sequel to the 2005 crime thriller Lord of War, has been released. Nicolas Cage returns as arms dealer Yuri, while Bill Skarsgård plays his son, Orlov.
According to the official synopsis, Yuri and his son will reunite in the film. Orlov attempts to rectify the mistakes caused by his father but ends up forming a mercenary group that intervenes in U.S. conflicts in the Middle East.
The father-son reunion in the trailer is far from amicable, with Orlov chasing Yuri at gunpoint, highlighting the tension between them.
Andrew Niccol, who wrote and directed the original film, continues to handle directing and screenplay duties for the sequel. Laura Harrier, Sylvia Hoeks, and Greg Tarzan Davis will also join the cast.
