Report: DC Studios Early Developing New 'Constantine' Movie, Francis Galluppi Tapped to Write

Reports indicate that DC Studios is in the early stages of developing a new Constantine film, with Francis Galluppi, director of Evil Dead Rise, hired to write the screenplay. The information released so far only covers the project's development status and the screenwriter; the film has not yet been greenlit for production.

It remains unclear how this new film relates to the 2005 movie starring Keanu Reeves, or to the version portrayed by Matt Ryan in the Arrowverse. There is also no confirmation that either actor will return.

A sequel to the Keanu Reeves version had been in development for years. Original director Francis Lawrence stated in 2025 that DC Studios supported the sequel, with Akiva Goldsman handling the screenplay at the time.

Francis Galluppi's involvement is interpreted as a potential shift in creative direction, but this is merely an inference based on personnel changes, not an officially announced new direction from DC. The project remains in a "very early" stage of development, with no confirmation on filming start dates, release windows, or cast.
