Coffee Stain and FRAME BREAK released the 1.0 full version of Lightyear Frontier on November 5, with existing Early Access saves carrying over. This update completes the final chapter of the main story and adds a series of endgame quests, along with various quality-of-life improvements and new features.
Lightyear Frontier is a planetary farming and settlement simulation game. Players pilot robots on a planet at the edge of the galaxy to explore, cultivate, farm, and automate construction, gradually building a new home. The game supports up to four players in co-op.
The full release introduces seamless day-night transitions, causing the world to change accordingly. Two newly accessible areas, "Windy Heights" and "Silent Marshes," expand the explorable world by approximately 40%. Players can also unlock the high-speed seeding module "Seed Shooter MG," the continuous flight capability provided by the "Skystrider" transformation mode, and more powerful hover thrusters.
The developers describe the 1.0 update as the culmination of their long development journey and have stated that they plan to release at least one more major update in the future, though details have not yet been disclosed. The game is currently available on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S; the Epic Games Store page still displays "Coming Soon" at the time of writing.
