Beholder: Conductor saw a significant sales resurgence 15 months after its release. Through a 30% discount, participation in the Steam Train Festival, and creator promotions, the game sold 81,088 copies in 14 days, matching its launch-period sales.
The Head of Marketing at Alawar stated in their review that the team did not update the game, trailers, store capsule art, or patches. Instead, they aligned the Steam Daily Deal with the Train Festival held from July 20 to 27, and ran promotions through the creator platform Jestr from July 20 to 26. The game's price in the US region was reduced from $13.99 to $4.19, and related videos garnered 9.2 million views.
In the seven days before the promotion, the game sold only 202 copies, generating a net revenue of $1,071. In the first eight days after the event started, sales rose to 67,016 copies; over the full 14-day period, Steam recorded 41.73 million impressions and 743,055 store visits, with peak daily visits reaching approximately 190,000.
The gross revenue for these 14 days was $274,498. After deducting refunds and Steam's share, the net revenue was $165,000, which does not yet include the $5,600 fee for Jestr. There were 2,781 refunds during the event, accounting for approximately 3.4% of sales. The promotion also significantly increased wishlists and drove sales of another three titles in the series (58,216 copies) and three related bundles (37,684 copies). The head of marketing attributed this resurgence to the combined effect of deep discounts, platform featuring, themed festivals, and off-platform promotion.
