In the Quarterfinals of the League of Legends 2026 World Championship, LCK's first seed GEN defeated LCS's second seed LYON 3-0, securing a spot in the semifinals. GEN will face LPL's fourth seed IG in the semifinals to compete for a place in the finals.
In Game 1, LYON secured the first blood and gained the initiative for their bot lane through an early Dragon teamfight. GEN later turned the tide with Canyon's Qiyana and Kiin's Olaf, consecutively securing the Dragon Soul and the second Baron Nashor to win the first game.
In Game 2, GEN quickly adjusted their bot lane performance, securing a lane kill early on. Ruler's Ashe became the team's key carry. GEN ended the game with a flawless ace (5-0), taking the match point first.
In Game 3, GEN shifted its resource and tactical focus to the top lane, establishing an early lead. Although LYON won a teamfight before the Dragon contest, GEN maintained control over subsequent map objectives, including Dragons and Baron Nashor, and closed out the series after winning a mid-lane teamfight. The next quarterfinal will feature LPL's second seed BLG against LCK's fourth seed DK.
