Sucker Punch Productions has revealed design details for Jin Sakai in Ghost of Yōtei's "Most Wanted" mode. Players will control the "Ghost of Tsushima" at the peak of his combat prowess, rather than a weakened or simplified cameo version.
To adapt the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima to the adjusted combat mechanics of the new title, the development team migrated and recreated over 60 exclusive animations. Jin Sakai will have access to his full arsenal and sword stances from the start, with his signature gameplay still centered on swift counters and precise parries.
The character's appearance has also been remastered for PlayStation 5. The developers rebuilt Jin Sakai's face, hairstyle, and armor pieces from scratch, enhancing detail while preserving his recognizable look. Voice actor Daisuke Tsuji returns to lend his voice, and Jin's iconic musical theme has been re-recorded with a new arrangement.
Jin Sakai's dialogue will be integrated into the main campaign's narrative, rather than being entirely standalone additional content. Sucker Punch stated that the team aims to protect the character's identity and leverage the artistic and technical expertise accumulated since the release of Ghost of Tsushima, allowing his full abilities and signature combat style to meet the new standards of the sequel.
