RTX 5080 24GB Price Skyrocketing Doesn't Matter! It Will Be Impossible to Buy Even After Release

According to the latest leak from Moore's Law Is Dead, NVIDIA may launch a 24GB version of the RTX 5080 at CES in January 2027 to replace the discontinued RTX 5090. However, this graphics card is likely to be a paper launch with virtually zero actual supply.

Although the RTX 5090 has not been officially discontinued, it is mostly available at exorbitant prices in the market. Therefore, NVIDIA needs a new product to fill the gap in the high-end segment. The RTX 5080 24GB upgrades the original 16GB VRAM to 24GB, positioning itself between the original RTX 5080 and the RTX 5090.

However, recent reports indicate that NVIDIA has not yet released design documentation for the 24GB version to its AIB partners, suggesting that mass production is still quite some way off.

RTX 5080 24GB价格上天不重要!发布了也是根本买不到

Based on this, MLID judges that the RTX 5080 24GB at CES 2027 will likely be a paper launch only, with virtually no availability in the market after its announcement.

Regarding pricing, the rumored MSRP for the RTX 5080 24GB is around $1,500, close to the original RTX 5090's MSRP. Considering the near-total lack of actual stock, the final retail price is likely to be significantly higher than the official listing.

Given the current market situation, if the RTX 5080 24GB is merely a paper launch, it will do little to alleviate supply constraints in the DIY market and may instead further drive up channel prices for existing RTX 50 series models.

The existence and pricing of the RTX 5080 24GB are currently speculative. It remains to be seen what NVIDIA will officially announce at CES 2027.
