Just hours before its scheduled November 5 release, FuRyu announced that the PC version of Crymeari would not launch on Steam as planned. Valve's review of the final build took longer than expected, and a new release date has yet to be determined.
This delay affects only the PC version; the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions have launched as originally scheduled. Steam users can still download the free demo, while FuRyu has yet to announce when the full version will be re-released.
Crymeari is a dark-themed action roguelike and the latest entry in the "CRY" series, which also includes titles related to Crystar and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West. The protagonist, Alice, enters an otherworldly realm known as "Wonderland," where she joins forces with her guide, Mary, to confront manifestations of others' and her own sins, striving to reach the Queen and secure her freedom.
The game's combat system introduces a poker hand mechanic. Chief writer Naoki Hisaya previously stated that Crymeari is the most emotionally charged entry in the series. Current information indicates that the Steam delay stems from platform review procedures rather than any previously disclosed technical issues.
