Rebel Wolves recently discussed the non-linear RPG design, player feedback adjustments, and team operations for Blood of Dawnwalkers. The game features a "30 Days and 30 Nights" deadline, but reaching this limit does not necessarily mean the game ends; players' goals may shift from rescuing family members to seeking revenge.
Blood of Dawnwalkers is set in a 14th-century European-style dark fantasy world. The protagonist is human by day but can use vampire abilities at night. Quests are not strictly divided into main and side stories; players can weaken enemy factions, trade with enemies, or even abandon their initial rescue objectives. The team aims to create a thoroughly non-linear experience.
During development, feedback gathered from public demos drove specific adjustments, including adding camera distance options and simplifying directional attack controls. The studio currently has around 160 employees, holds all-hands meetings every two weeks, and allows staff to choose between office, remote, or hybrid work arrangements.
Rebel Wolves was founded in 2022, with members including developers who worked on RPGs such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. The studio plans to continue producing single-player, story-driven RPGs without reliance on in-game purchases, stating it will not change direction simply due to market trends. The team is currently working on photo mode and New Game Plus, viewing Blood of Dawnwalkers as the first chapter of a long-running saga.
