Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Undergoes a Complete Overhaul: New Design, Smoothness Increases by Nearly 50%

August 10 news: Based on the internal beta information gradually being revealed, Xiaomi will not only officially launch its self-developed 3nm flagship processor next month but also simultaneously release the new HyperOS 4 operating system.

Judging from the latest leaked details of the system interface, The new HyperOS 4 introduces a new design language centered around transparent glass materials. The overall style is reminiscent of Apple iOS's Liquid Glass design, widely adopting light and translucent visual effects in icons, widgets, and various functional panels.

Meanwhile, under this new design system, system interface elements frequently accessed by users, such as the lock screen, main screen widgets, and folders, have all undergone comprehensive visual refreshes, creating a clear distinction from the previous generation of HyperOS.

HyperOS 4 adds several practical new features to the main screen interaction logic. Users can stack multiple types of widgets in the same area on the desktop. Folder sizes are no longer fixed and can be freely adjusted according to personal usage habits. The system may also add a smart grid function to automatically optimize the arrangement efficiency of desktop app icons, significantly improving desktop space utilization.

In addition, the Device Center, originally used to uniformly manage Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, and various wearable devices, will also undergo comprehensive design updates.

These changes mean that HyperOS 4 is not just a routine visual upgrade, but a systematic and deep refresh covering the entire main screen interaction process and multi-device connectivity.

The new system will also integrate an enhanced version of the Xiao AI assistant. According to current internal test data, the basic operational smoothness of HyperOS 4 is expected to improve by 40% compared to the previous generation, while the background app retention rate will increase by 35%.

Memory usage in idle state is directly reduced by 25% to 30%. Even if users use the system continuously for 365 days, the decline in smoothness is only 5%, virtually eliminating the common issue of severe lag in traditional older Android systems after prolonged use.
