"Japanese Swordsmith": Steam Page
· "Japanese Swordsmith" is a simulation game that lets players experience the process of crafting a Japanese sword as a swordsmith. Players take on the role of a Kyoto swordsmith in the late Edo period, completing a qualified Japanese sword from selecting raw tamahagane steel to the final assembly.
· The traditional forging methods of Japanese swords will be showcased in this title. Starting with heating and refining tamahagane steel, the process involves repeated cutting, forging, and folding to gradually remove impurities from the steel billet and significantly enhance its toughness. This is followed by the combination of soft iron core and hard steel jacket to ensure a hard edge while maintaining strong flexibility in the blade body to prevent breakage. The process continues with more intricate steps such as sharpening, quenching, pattern creation, polishing, and assembly.
