Former EA Manager Believes Mass Effect Could Be Shelved After EA's Sale

Former EA manager Emmanuel Rosier recently discussed the impact of EA becoming a private company after its acquisition by Arab investors.

BioWare is currently developing Mass Effect 5

He believes that, given the popularity of sports in the region, EA's new owners would be happy to continue investing in EA Sports titles. On the other hand, the former manager thinks that less popular IPs like Mass Effect might not be so lucky.

Given BioWare's recent struggles, Emmanuel Rosier remains skeptical about the team's future. The former executive stated that EA is very likely to abandon iconic IPs like Mass Effect, especially if the new management lacks enthusiasm for these series.

"As a studio, they have been struggling greatly, and I don't know if they will continue to invest in this project."

It's also possible that studios like BioWare could be sold under EA's new management, turning the publisher into a developer focused entirely on sports games. Ultimately, the new leadership will make the most profitable decisions, with little regard for the legacy of these IPs.
