According to a well-known source for LEGO news, the LEGO Marvel game series has been "indefinitely shelved," and Warner Bros. is planning to shift the focus of the next LEGO game to other IPs under its umbrella—but likely not the one fans are hoping for.
Since LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 in 2019, no new titles have been released in the series, with 2017's LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 remaining the last entirely new entry. According to Warner Bros.' August report, the company explicitly stated that "the LEGO Marvel game series will be paused for the foreseeable future."
Regarding the next LEGO game, sources have confirmed that it will "focus on a major IP under Warner Bros." While many might immediately think of the Harry Potter series, the leaker has denied this possibility with a GIF, also ruling out the likelihood of a LEGO Dune game.
LEGO games continue to perform strongly in the market—LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, released in 2026, received widespread acclaim from both players and critics. However, with the Marvel IP temporarily stepping aside, it remains highly uncertain which franchise Warner Bros. will choose to take its place.
