On Deponia, the entire world has become one giant junkyard, where the eccentric Rufus always seems to have bad luck. As a member of society's lowest class, he is destined to live among piles of trash. He dreams of entering the world of the rich and enjoying life in the floating cities above the clouds. One day, Goal, a charming girl from the upper sectors, falls into the junk pile, and fate finally seems to smile upon this arrogant and useless man. Rufus decides to help the young woman return to her husband. But when he discovers that Goal's husband looks exactly like him, he hatches an evil plan to enter high society. However, things don't go as planned, as his feelings for the beauty prevent him from being as ruthless as usual.
