Jason Momoa returns to the DC Universe as Lobo, covered in white body paint, clad in black leather, and sporting a sinister grin befitting the bounty hunter. Following the film's summer 2026 release, a behind-the-scenes featurette delving into Momoa's performance was uploaded to YouTube. In it, Supergirl director Craig Gillespie is seen discussing with the actor while scrolling through concept images on his laptop—images that sparked fan outrage, with viewers pointing out their apparent AI-generated nature.
Although images of Lobo's early design were only briefly shown from a distance, their lighting and overall soft, blurry quality bore a striking resemblance to AI-generated content. Fans quickly noticed these issues and took to the comments section to protest Gillespie's apparent use of AI in such a major production.
The featurette was removed from YouTube several hours later. Neither DC nor Warner Bros. has issued an official statement on the matter, leaving angry fans demanding answers.
