New GTA 6 Details: Criminal Style Affects Storyline, Jason and Lucia Don't Have to Date

GTA VI appears to be further enhancing player freedom of choice. According to the latest leaks, the game not only introduces a "Crime Profile" system that reflects the player's criminal style, but also designs an independent relationship system for Jason and Lucia. Their criminal tendencies and romantic development may both influence certain plot directions.

What's more interesting is that romance is not mandatory. Players can even completely ignore the romantic storyline between the two characters while continuing to have them act as criminal partners. Overall, it seems Rockstar aims to allow different players to truly create their own versions of Jason and Lucia through these systems.

New GTA VI Details:

GTA VI is known to have four "Crime Profile" states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Manic. Unlike the "Honor" system in Red Dead Redemption 2, the "Crime Profile" does not simply judge whether the player is good or bad, but rather reflects what type of criminal the player is.

Beyond the "Manic" type, there is an even more extreme state. If the player commits enough extreme acts, the "Crime Profile" icon will begin to crack and eventually shatter completely. Once this happens, the profile will be permanently locked for the remainder of that playthrough.

Jason and Lucia have their own independent "Crime Profiles," meaning their statuses can be completely different—for example, Jason could be "Professional" while Lucia is "Manic." These different Crime Profiles may influence certain aspects of the story.

To maintain a "Professional" profile, players need to exercise restraint and control during crimes, such as avoiding unnecessary killings or injuries and resolving situations as cleanly as possible.

The "Crime Profile" does not have a constantly changing numerical bar like the Honor system in Red Dead Redemption 2, but is instead represented by different states. Players can view their current status in the game interface and character menu.

Rockstar allows players to disable notifications related to the "Crime Profile." If players prefer not to engage with this system, they are free to cause chaos as they wish.

GTA VI also features dedicated character menus for Jason and Lucia, displaying their character models, individual Crime Profiles, relationship status, and other information.

The romantic relationship between Jason and Lucia is not mandatory. Players can cultivate a romantic bond, keep them as friends and criminal partners, or even completely ignore romantic development, allowing the relationship to fade.

The relationship system between the two characters also uses different states rather than a traditional "relationship meter" progress bar, and these relationship states may influence certain plot developments.

There are no traditional pre-set "date missions" in the game. Players can freely create their own dates by engaging in activities together, such as visiting the zoo, kayaking, or taking a walk along the beach. Rockstar specifically highlighted these activities.

Even if players completely ignore the romantic relationship, neither character will disappear from the main storyline. Regardless of how close their bond becomes, Jason and Lucia will continue to operate as criminal partners.

If players primarily control only Jason or Lucia, it will not cause their relationship to break down. Rockstar also stated that long-term neglect of the relationship will not result in the other character constantly "nagging" the player.

Rockstar's purpose in designing the "Crime Profile" and relationship systems is to give players more freedom in role-playing. Different playstyles may lead to different story outcomes, encouraging players to experience multiple playthroughs.
