Embracer Group recently released its latest financial report, revealing plans for Darksiders 4. The game is scheduled for release between April 2027 and March 2028, no later than March 31, 2028, and will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
Darksiders 4 continues the series' third-person action-adventure framework, retaining classic elements such as post-apocalyptic exploration, large-scale combat, environmental puzzles, and mythological boss battles. Its biggest innovation is allowing players to choose one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse at the start of their journey, with each horseman featuring unique weapons, skill sets, and distinct combat styles.
Promotional taglines hint that all Four Horsemen will appear in the story, marking the first time in the series that all four share the spotlight. Store listings also indicate that Darksiders 4 supports 2-4 player online co-op, while local split-screen accommodates up to two players tackling the adventure together.
The financial report also provided updates on other projects. Sales of Gothic 1: Remastered met expectations, with development costs nearly fully recouped. Metro 2039 surpassed one million wishlist adds in just two weeks after launch, setting a new company record for the fastest milestone achieved. The game will be available for hands-on demos at Gamescom.
