During today's Sony State of Play presentation, a new trailer for Fate/EXTRA Record was revealed, showcasing gameplay. The game is scheduled for release on January 28, 2027, on PC, PS5, PS4, and Switch platforms.

Fate/EXTRA Record is developed by TYPE-MOON studio BB, a subsidiary of TYPE-MOON, and is a remake of Fate/EXTRA. In 2025, the game was announced to be delayed until spring 2026, and then further delayed in March 2026 due to a review of the development structure and a change of publisher. On August 31, 2026, it was officially announced that Aniplex would handle the game's distribution.
