Konami has officially announced the single-player third-person action-adventure game Rhapsody in Scarlet. Set in a fictional 1920s New York, the game is planned for release on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with no specific launch date confirmed yet.
Rhapsody in Scarlet was showcased during the latest PlayStation State of Play event. Although revealed through Sony's presentation, the game is not a PlayStation exclusive; PC and Xbox players will also be able to play it.
The story follows Ellie Miles, a young mage passionate about jazz music. She originally came to New York to pursue her jazz career, but was suddenly taken by a mysterious man to a place called "The Sanctuary," drawing her into a gang-related incident involving magic and conspiracy.
As events unfold, a conspiracy capable of shaking the world gradually comes to light, with danger and madness lurking in the city's shadows. Ellie, possessing extraordinary powers and a mysterious background, becomes central to the incident, potentially influencing the fate of the world.
The combat system combines beast-like abilities with magic, allowing players to execute corresponding combo attacks. Konami stated that the development team aims to offer a different gameplay experience for the action genre. The official release date has not yet been announced.
