AUGUST has announced that it is developing "UTA MACROSS," a buy-to-play game based on the smartphone rhythm game "UTA MACROSS Smartphone De Culture" (hereinafter referred to as the "live-service version"), which ended operations in 2022. The game is scheduled for release in Spring 2027 on PC (Steam) and mobile platforms (iOS/Android). To expand platform compatibility and add new songs, crowdfunding will begin on September 10, 2026. Game System Rebuilt for Offline Play
"UTA MACROSS" is a rhythm game that transcends series boundaries, bringing together idol singers and pilots from "Macross," "Macross Plus," "Macross 7," "Macross Frontier," and "Macross Δ" (including their respective theatrical films). Players can enjoy gameplay accompanied by many famous songs from the series.
While inheriting the concert performances and illustrations highly praised by fans in the "live-service version," the game system has been rebuilt for Steam, iOS, and Android platforms. The design, originally optimized for touch controls on smartphones, has been adjusted to ensure comfortable gameplay with keyboard and mouse, aiming to provide an enjoyable experience for both existing players and newcomers.
The base package includes approximately 50 songs! It features over 1,000 illustrations, and the character costume change function has been carried over!
The base package of "UTA MACROSS" is expected to include a curated selection of 50 popular songs. Players will start with over 1,000 cards of rarity ★4 or higher, along with more than 20 costumes for each idol singer. The gacha feature for increasing card rarity is completely free and unlimited! Special performances that were previously difficult to unlock due to missing rare cards and costumes will now be easier to access!
Furthermore, in addition to the base package, we plan to release multiple DLCs simultaneously, adding remaining songs from the live-service version, as well as some cards and costumes.
A Crowdfunding Project to Co-create the Future of "UTA MACROSS" with Fans
After the mobile game "UTA MACROSS Smartphone De Culture" ended its service, we received numerous requests from fans for its revival. This time, development members who share the same vision have come together to launch the "UTA MACROSS" revival project.
This crowdfunding campaign on CAMPFIRE aims not only to raise development funds but also to achieve goals such as "expanding platform compatibility" and "adding new songs (via DLC)" based on the support and feedback received, creating a title that can be enjoyed by more people for a longer period.
