"Halloween" Intimate Interaction Suspected to Be Removed, Official Confirmation Pending

IllFonic's Halloween appears to have removed an intimate interaction minigame following its first hotfix. The change was not listed in the patch notes, and the developer has not yet confirmed whether the content was indeed removed.

The game is scheduled for official release on September 8, with Deluxe Edition players gaining early access over the preceding weekend. Players quickly discovered that two characters could hide together in a closet and trigger an intimate interaction minigame via an invitation.

Once the invitation is accepted, both parties must continuously press buttons to keep the progress bar within the designated area. Successfully completing the minigame fills the heart icon, granting both characters the "Stronger Together" buff. The characters' specific actions are not shown directly; only camera shaking and character voices are present.

In the controversial video, Samuel Loomis enters the closet where the 17-year-old character Linda is hiding and completes a minigame with her. Loomis is in his fifties during the game's events, and his likeness is based on the late actor Donald Pleasence. The interaction drew attention from players after the video spread.

Halloween features numerous movie characters. Bob Simms, Annie Brackett, Lynda Van Der Klok, and Laurie Strode can all be played as civilian characters in both single-player and multiplayer modes; Loomis is classified as a "Hero Civilian," serving as the psychiatrist of the series' villain, Michael Myers.

IllFonic stated that the first hotfix primarily addressed multiple crash issues and other bugs the team could resolve promptly. The developer is also preparing a larger patch to respond to player-reported issues and feedback, but this patch notes did not mention the intimate interaction minigame.

Some players have requested the restoration of this content, while others have suggested restricting Loomis's participation separately. As IllFonic has not explained the actual status of the minigame or the reasons for the adjustment, it remains to be confirmed whether it has been officially removed.
