Rockstar Games recently revealed that players will need to carefully look after the two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, in GTA 6, with the game even tracking the characters' sleep patterns.
Following the release of the GTA 6 gameplay preview, players showed immense enthusiasm for the game's diverse and intricate new details. Those fortunate enough to experience the preview version have shared additional insights. In GTA 6, players must pay close attention to the physical condition of the two protagonists.
The fitness system makes a return in this installment, offering significantly greater depth compared to previous entries in the series. Gyms are scattered throughout the city for players to use. During the GTA 6 preview demonstration, Rob Nelson, the game's co-development director, showcased how working out helps restore various character stats.

During his playthrough, Nelson noticed that the character's stat bars were low. He emphasized that boosting stamina is crucial, which can be achieved through exercise. He also mentioned that players can have Lucia and Jason work out together. Partner workouts not only improve both characters' physical fitness simultaneously but can also turn into a date. In the demo footage, the two protagonists enter the gym together, sign up for memberships, and Lucia even purchases protein powder to enhance her workout results.
Each workout session requires completing three exercises to count as the day's training, which boosts the character's health. Cardio exercises improve stamina, and overall health can also be enhanced through fitness activities.
Nelson then introduced the game's sleep tracking mechanism, accessible via the health app on the in-game phone. The co-development director stated that the tracking system will alert players if their characters are getting enough rest. Insufficient rest may affect "the recovery of certain attributes." Nelson said, "We track a vast amount of status data, including details like these."
