Playground Games recently reaffirmed that the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 is still on track for release within 2026, dispelling previous rumors of delays.
At the end of a recent blog post, the developers clearly stated: "If you're planning to embark on an 'Explore Japan' journey on PlayStation 5, stay tuned! Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PS5 later this year. You can add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store to receive notifications upon release."
This statement aligns with previous official announcements, but given recent rumors that the PS5 version might be delayed until 2027, this reaffirmation sends a positive signal to PlayStation players awaiting the game. Previously, The Verge journalist Tom Warren had stated that he did not expect the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 to launch within 2026.
The Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of Forza Horizon 6 launched earlier this year. Since then, Playground Games has released several free content updates, though no full expansion has been issued yet. The studio plans to release two expansions for the title, with some analysts suggesting the PS5 version might launch alongside the first expansion.
Although some argue that the repeated use of identical statements may simply be standard procedure since no official delay has been confirmed, Playground Games' current official stance remains that the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 will arrive in 2026.
