With Marvel's Wolverine set to release later this month, Insomniac Games' Marvel gaming universe is gradually expanding. Players have high expectations for the next Marvel's Spider-Man sequel, with rampant speculation about whether Wolverine will make a crossover appearance. However, Yuri Lowenthal, the voice actor for Spider-Man, offered a surprising answer.
In a recent interview with TheMovieDB, Lowenthal was asked if there would be a chance to see Spider-Man and Wolverine team up in future games. He admitted that while a Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover would be "very exciting," "there's one character I'd prefer to see appear, and that's Deadpool."
Lowenthal revealed that every time he met with Insomniac's Creative Director Brian Horton, he strongly pushed for Deadpool to be included in the game. He also joked that if he accidentally leaked the plan for the "Merc with a Mouth" ahead of schedule, he'd rather believe the idea was his own all along.
Deadpool and Spider-Man have long been known for their witty interactions in the comics, with their chemistry being a major highlight. Lowenthal's comments undoubtedly add new possibilities to Insomniac's future projects—whether Wolverine, Deadpool, or more Marvel characters will be the first to share the screen with Spider-Man outside of the big screen remains to be officially revealed.
