Nintendo has revealed gameplay footage of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, with its visual style unexpectedly dividing fans. The appearances of Young Link and Zelda have sparked particularly strong reactions, with some players finding them too unusual and overly detailed.
Young Link has received the most criticism. On social media, users have compared him to a goldfish, criticizing his large forehead, excessive small details, and unfamiliar appearance. Young Zelda has faced similar feedback. Additionally, the designs of other characters, including the Zora, have also generated considerable controversy.
However, not everyone holds a negative view. Some fans believe the new art style is successful, noting that Nintendo is once again attempting to bring something fresh to The Legend of Zelda series rather than simply rehashing the visual approach of the 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time. The updated designs of Sheik and Ganondorf, in particular, have been well-received by players.
The Ocarina of Time remake has already sparked lively discussion before its release: some players had hoped Nintendo would deliver a more realistic or stylistically familiar version of Ocarina of Time, while others were pleased that the company decided not to replicate the series' previous works.
