Nintendo has unveiled a new showcase for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, confirming that full voice acting will be added for multiple characters. Characters such as Zelda, Saria, and Ganondorf will have voiced dialogue, but Link will remain silent.
Other changes revealed include a jump button and a quest log. Unlike the original, which primarily conveyed character voices through Navi's calls and sounds made by Link while exploring dungeons, the remake will feature other characters speaking formally during story dialogues.
The latest trailer includes dialogue snippets from multiple characters. In addition to Zelda, Saria, and Ganondorf, Princess Ruto of the Zoras and Darunia of the Gorons are also confirmed to have full voice acting.
Link continues to adhere to the series' long-standing silent protagonist tradition, with no character lines shown in the current showcase. This sets him apart distinctly from other main characters and is one of the original features preserved in the remake despite the expanded voice acting.
Nintendo has not yet announced the voice cast, so it remains unconfirmed who will portray characters such as Zelda, Saria, and Ganondorf. The information released at this stage only showcases the characters' actual in-game voice performances.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is scheduled for release on November 5 and will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
