Today, Bandai Namco has released a major 2.0 update for the vampire RPG Code Vein II. In addition to gameplay improvements, this update removes the game's Denuvo anti-tamper protection system. The Denuvo label on the Steam store page has also disappeared.
The 2.0 update includes post-game content featuring short story segments for all companions; the "Trial" mode, which allows players to repeatedly challenge bosses and exchange rewards for over 90 new customization items; a new playable companion, Liv Voda, who wields two-handed greatswords and magical arts; a Story Mode for reduced difficulty; Legacy graphics filters that give characters the anime style of the first game; an improved Photo Mode with new poses, frames, and flying objects; and an expanded Music Player featuring soundtracks from Code Vein, Code Vein II, and God Eater. The 2.0 update is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
