No Man's Sky is celebrating its 10th anniversary, with Hello Games marking the occasion by releasing a major 7.0 update titled "COSMOS." The new content primarily features a large-scale overhaul of the game's space elements, now offering players more opportunities to build, gather resources, and interact with each other.

With this update, players can purchase, build, and decorate their own space stations, both externally and internally. Based on these stations, players can create clubs and social hubs, or unite to form player-managed alliances. These coalitions allow players to establish network empires composed of space stations and compete on global leaderboards for wealth, territory, and prestige. Modular bases have appeared in open space, which can be placed freely anywhere. Additionally, players can build interstellar bases on massive asteroids and mine their resources. The solar system mechanics have also been expanded, now allowing travel closer to the central star of the galaxy.
Another notable new feature is the "Derelict Freighter," which offers scavengers with dreams of space exploration the chance to investigate and mine valuable technology and resources within. However, excessive resource extraction may cause the station to melt down.
The improved star map scan now instantly displays locations leading to alien trade stations. There, you can obtain intelligence, regional maps, and new missions. Some facilities are contaminated with biohazardous materials and require prior cleanup.
Meanwhile, Hello Games has launched the "Our Journey Continues" expedition, dedicated to the 40 major updates No Man's Sky has received since its release in 2016. Players will be able to gradually learn about various old mechanics, developer commentary, and historical logs that chronicle the project's evolution over the past decade.
